  • Amy Lynn Lee (EVANESCENCE) بيوغرافي .

Amy Lynn Lee is an American singer and songwriter. She founded the band Evanescence with Ben Moody when they met at a youth camp. Ben met Amy playing Meat Loaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love" on the piano, where he eventually convinced Amy Lee to form a band.

Amy was born in Riverside, California. At school, Amy was president of the choir council, and participated in drama where she was in a number of plays. She has never had professional voice lessons, but has had classical piano lessons. Her family moved to many places, including Illinois, Kansas, and Florida, but finally settled in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Evanescence started. She graduated from Pulaski Academy in the year 2000. She also briefly attended Middle Tennessee State University.

Amy [on her husband, Josh]: Josh, you are my muse. Nothing inspires me the way you do. Thank you for all my missing pieces. Thank you for your strength and love. Thank you for letting me see myself through your eyes, because only then could I know that I am good enough for you. (edit)Amy Lee: (On set of the music video for "Lithium") It's the first time I've been hydraulically lowered into water.(edit)Amy Lee: (On set of the music video, "Lithium") It's 11:15 PM on day two, and the band just started shooting, and Rocky and Tim looked hot and metal. And now were gonna shoot John and Terry. Everyone's playing in the snow, and it looks really cool, and really dark and spooky and I love it! I'm really excited. We have a long way to go, but were getting there.(edit)Amy Lee (On set of the music video, "Lithium"): Alright, this is the part where I get in the water and mess up all the make-up I just worked on, for two hours. And I don't know what's gonna happen, I'm just gonna swim around and try to look cool.(edit)Amy Lee: We really took our time crafting this album [The Open Door] and had the freedom to express a broader range of emotions: not just pain and sadness, but also anger and, yes, even happiness.(edit)Amy Lee: (Talking about her song "Good Enough") It feels really good ending the album this way. (edit)Amy Lee: When I was in High School, I listened to a lot of death metal bands. Both genres are intricate, complex types of music that are very dramatic, and I'm naturally drawn to that.(edit)Amy: In a way, that's what it's all about, when people can relate to you through your art.(edit)Amy: Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.(edit)Amy: Nobody's perfect! I'm perfectly flawed.(edit)Amy: The girl with the junk in the trunk will bunk with the best hunk.(edit)Amy: That's why I became a musician, because I suck at sports.(edit)Amy: It's OK to laugh at me, I only look scary.(edit)Amy: If someone is making fun of you, it probably means you're doing something right. (edit)Amy: We've all fallen, but at the same time we're not broken. There is the hint that we are going to get up again.(edit)Amy (on her favorite item of clothing): My Victorian knickers I just bought in Japan. They make me feel like a chick pirate.(edit)Amy (on her weirdest fan moment): A fan once asked if he could have a piece of my hair for voodoo. I said no, so he hugged me and plucked out a couple of hairs and ran off.(edit)Amy: I love tiny, plastic realistic food magnets. I don't know why. They're hilarious.(edit)Amy (when played wrong note while performing "My Immortal"): I've played it so many times I'M LOSING MY MIND!(edit)Amy (when began performing "Bring Me To Life" in the wrong key): It's supposed to be really dramatic. Just pretend. (edit)Amy [on singer Bj?rk]: She's my idol. It was the only time I was awestruck. I was so shocked to meet her I could hardly speak, which is embarrassing.(edit)Amy: (on Evanescence's new album, "The Open Door") In the first week, it sold four times as many as "Fallen" did. So I think it really pays to write for yourself and not worry about what people are going to think of you.
(edit)Amy: (on Evanescence's new album, "The Open Door") With "Fallen", we had to break into the industry and have the biggest hit single ever. There was so much pressure from the label and the diff things that Ben and I wanted. This time there wasn’t any. It was completely hands off. We just made an album and had a great time doing it. I remember the whole time thinking ‘I don’t care if no one buys this album. I just want to make the best album in the world for me.’
(edit)Amy: (when asked if she still keeps it contact with former Evanescence guitarist, Ben Moody) No, screw that guy! We’re not friends, it ended pretty badly. I feel like our lives, at least mine, are way better without it. Is that really cruel?(edit)Amy: Everyone knows a lot about me without actually knowing me at all.(edit)Amy: I've learned to be a b****, that's a better way of saying it. But there's sexism at work here. Like, I'm on top, how did that happen if I'm not a b****? How could I be a nice person and have ended up succeeding? People don't say that about guys. But I think my best quality and my worst quality are the same thing: too much forgiveness. I really let people walk all over me.(edit)Amy: My best friend recently told me that I was the most passionate person she's ever known. I don't know if that was a compliment or an insult, honestly.(edit)Amy: That's where I spent a lot of my high school years -in the closet. It wasn't too cramped, but you do get really hot!(edit)Amy: I don't want to be Christina Aguilera. I want to be Amy Lee, rock queen - not sex queen.(edit)Amy: I'm glad that people are accepting our music and are connected to our art. Whether we're popular or not, I don't care.(edit)Amy: Sometimes I pick my nose. There you have it.(edit)Amy: I cry a lot - I don't know why, but it just helps me. I cry over bad and good stuff - sometimes sadness can be beautiful.(edit)Amy: If all we ever sang about was how happy we are, we would be lying to ourselves. People try to escape their problems by getting drunk, partying and dancing them away. What really heals me is to sit down and think, face the facts, then you can get over it and be happy.(edit)Amy: If there's one thing I believe, it's that I don't know anything and anything can happen.(edit)Amy: That was real. I climbed up that stuff. And I fell. But there's this shot where's this really really big fall and a girl with an unattractive ass. That's not my ass. I've got a way better ass then that girl. - On Evanescence's video for "Bring Me To Life"(edit)Amy: People told me I can't dress like a fairy. I say, I'm in a rock band and I can do whatever the hell I want!(edit)Amy: I like to use two basic elements for my clothing: rock... you know, metal and chains and stuff? Mixed with fairies and drama and Victorian clothing? Fantasy. - about her wardrobe.(edit)Amy: I think that our lyrics are defintely dark, but I know for a fact that we pull our inspiration from a million different influences. We listened to everything growing up. Our music isn't just 'opera metal' or 'gothic pop' it's just Evanescence.(edit)Amy: I was always a drama queen. I remember playing in the kitchen, trying to get my mom to think I was dead and call the police. When she didn't, I would cry. I was always theatrical. I don't think any of my relatives are surprised. When we younger, Ben would come over and I'd come down the steps wearing some huge petticoat that I stole from school.(edit)Amy: Every time a cool rock chick or actress seems to respect themselves as a strong woman, I'm like, 'Yeah!' And I love them, and they're my girls. And then they start to go downhill and people aren't paying attention anymore. So they start stripping their clothes off, because that's all they have left. I swear to everything I've ever known, I will never do that.(edit)Amy: There's nothing sexy about skin and bone, urgh, you gotta have some junk in the trunk.(edit)Amy: Everyone on the bus can laugh at me, and I'll be like, 'Screw you guys: I look good!'(edit)Amy: I'm just a princess in a rock-star age.(edit)Amy: It might not look it, but rocking in a corset is harder than you think!(edit)Amy: When you go through tragedy, you can either let that destroy you and you become bitter and never let it go, or you can let it make you stronger and let it make you grow. And that's what I did. My lyrics are coming from a place that I want people to relate to and feel that they're not alone.(edit)Amy: As a woman I feel offended because these artists portray women as people that can only do well in the world by selling their bodies. I'm determined to help prove that to be false.(edit)Amy: Honestly I just wear what I like. You know why? 'Cause I can, I'm a rock star. (edit)Amy: I was like, 'Dude, make me look bad. Please. I want to look ugly. I want to wear orange pants'.(edit)Amy: A lot of fans come up and say, 'This song changed my life, can you tell me what you meant when you wrote it?' or 'This song saved me when I had to go through a messy divorce.' It's really moving sometimes.(edit)Amy: Inspiration comes in the middle of the night when you should be doing homework.(edit)Amy: Britney Spears and all that, they don’t threaten me, they don't bother me, because they're not talented.(edit)read more trivia » add TRIVIA
